neither is adele.
i'm in-process of readying myself emotionally to write. i noticed not-so-recently that for me to produce creatively, i get the best results when i manipulate my own emotions. i have to make myself depressed in order to write something that i'm happy with. i usually deploy extremely emotional ballads to do the dirty work, then go to bed feeling very glum after an hour or so of typing.
this is probably fairly fucked up, but as creativity goes, i'm thinking a lot of people are the same way. aren't a lot of artists totally unstable? i'm not saying i'm van gough, but i think the creative process can be similar for a lot of people.
that said, nothing's working. my usual songs aren't working. is there such a thing as being too stable?
